Doing this as my first sewing project 🤞 Can I ask why so much excess? I bought batting sized 79"*91" and with my material sizes just made more sense to cut strips sized 2.5" *13.5" and was planning on cutting my batting strips at 9" as there seems to be excess left on both sizes. I think it should work but would appreciate anyone with more experience to weigh in Video notes: Batting 8" columns, strips 3"*14.5", queen size she used 432 strips

This is brilliant use of marketing tshirt that add to waste while creating fun and lovely decor that can withstand hard washing as jersey knit is kind I known for that at this point 😅 especially since you hand secured each point unlike some yarn secured points I think this would really last. Especially if you did some pad stitched cloth backing on the back before a final layer of whatever coating most people prefer on their rugs for slip resist. (I usually do this on cheaper rugs that break down on the cleaning/washing process over time to prevent them from having to be tossed) Smart! 🧠

You make it look easy. My problem was both watercolors & acrylics was it bleeding under the stencil or if trying to draw using it one movement then pencil can go underneath the stencil. My sister sent me them & were very thin 🤔.

I just made one for my nephew and I'm gonna make 2 more. Very beginner friendly and fun. Thank you for such clear instructions. One thing I would change is to sew the eyes and teeth on before sewing the hood to the towel. Thank you so much!! I've been getting frustrated with other "beginner" projects, but this is the first one I had a bunch of fun with.

Very nice sewing project. I love to recycle fabric from previously worn items, that are perhaps too worn and cannot be donated but can be recycled into something new and useful. May I offer you a bit of advice from a veteran seamstress? Please, please invest in a pair of proper scissors. I prefer the old classics, made in America of chrome or steel like Wiss, for example. There are German or Italian brands that can be sharpened or buy a pair of unused from a previous decade. But my dear it was painful to watch you cut with those craft scissors. They are way too small and improperly designed for cutting fabtic. I promise you will be much happier with the proper scissors for fabric. And then, never, never cut anything but fabric with those scissors because they must remain sharp. Another suggestion is to buy the vintage copy of the Vogue sewing book. It's a bible of great advice and you will love having it. Loved your video and best wishes!
